Gallovidian Gravel is a bike packers dream route, delivering 330km of breathtaking scenery linking picturesque seaside towns and remote ancient villages, taking the rider from quiet back lanes of rolling countryside to the wide open remote mountainous landscapes of Dumfries and Galloway.
The route provides access into some of Scotland's best gravel and bike touring riding without the long-distance access of the highlands, providing a much more easily accessible route and flavour of Scottish bikepacking from your start point in the boarders.
The comprehensive route guide is written by archaeologist-turned-offroad-writer Guy Kesteven, and will open your eyes to the rich history and stories of the landscapes you’ll journey through.
The guide contains everything you need to plan your ride. The route is broken down into eight parts, with detailed 1:50,000 scale Ordnance Survey mapping, navigation and what to look out for along the way. It also includes practical advice, suggested itineraries and route options so you can make the most of your ride.
The guide is spiral bound and the front and back cover are weather resistant.
